Couple of Italian consoles

There is very little information about EUGENIO IMBERT. He was born in Naples, as the son of Henry Imbert and Eugénie Augustine Chaidon.
His brother Alexandre, born in the same city on 3 April 1865, was the eldest, so the birth year of Eugenio is placed later. The other two brothers were Frederick and Jules. The activity of antiques dealer was first undertaken by Alexandre, owner in 1897 in Rome of the Galerie A. Imbert / Objets d'art anciens et de haute curiosité / spécialité de tableaux des grànd maîtres, located in Palazzo Caffarelli in via Condotti n. 59-61. He was one of the most active antique dealers in the city and a great expert on ancient Italian majolica.Jules was also an antiques dealer, but in Florence.

Eugenio was an antiques dealer in Milan in Via S. Spirito 3, which was not the first place of his activity, that was 38 Via Monte Napoleone). He was a furniture supplier to several members of the Royal Household. He designed Venetian-style furniture and he had reproductions of antique venetian-style furniture made by excellent Italian craftsmen.

He was a great collector of bronzue plaques, and famous for having published the 1941 catalogue with Giuseppe Morazzoni (Le placchette italiane by Eugenio Imbert, G. Morazzoni).

He had a very important art collection.
