Chiavari or Chiavarina chairs were designed by Guiseppe Gaetano Descalzi in 1807. The chairs were handmade by Fratelli Zunino and Rivarola in Chiavari in the early 1950s.The black lacquered frames made of solid beech feature intricately carved and turned details in the spindle backrest and front legs. The chairs retain their original finely woven cane. One of them has (partly) the original sticker of the manufacturer underneath.
